Work History

  • September 2018

    Microsoft: Software Developer

I was hired full time as a software developer to work on the NEXT team at Microsoft, a subdivision of Windows, starting in September

  • Summer 2017

    Microsoft: Software Developer Intern

As a software developer intern on Evoke (the studio behind Story Remix), I integrated research code to perform a highly requested special effect into our 3D engine, worked to improve memory and time performance of the feature, created a pipeline for designers to import their artwork into the effect, and integrated the 3D engine work into the Story Remix application

  • Summer 2016

    Microsoft: Explorer Intern

I was hired as an explorer intern at Microsoft on Evoke (the studio behind story remix) during the early days of the team. The team was focused on brainstorming and user research to deliver top notch products to the public, so my work revolved around that. I created a camera app with functionalities designed to excite Generation Z customers, helped full time employees come up with innovative new features for future release products, and developed demo applications in C# and XAML

  • Summer 2015 - Winter 2015

    Lockheed Martin: Intern

This was a full time summer internship after freshman year that continued part time through fall semester. I tested over 900 documents in Windchill to ensure they download properly after a bug fix, renamed and manually migrated hundreds of documents from Windchill 8.0 to Windchill 10.2, and resolved customer incidents, including random access loss issues, problems with moving or deleting documents, container creation and external user account creation among other tasks

  • Fall 2013

    Lockheed Martin: High School Intern

This was an unpaid high school internship on the GOES-R team where I drafted procedures for magnetometer testing and operations, audited environmental tests, wrote verification requirement paperwork for satellite components, and performed other tasks to ease the workload of full time employees

My Personal Philosophy

During my time at CU Boulder, I have learned much more than just software engineering. University has also been a deep dive into my learning styles as well as my preferences. Through internships and projects, I've found my passion in augmented reality, graphics engineering and animation, and I would like to apply those skills in the AR headset industry, the AAA games industry, and the animated movie industry. I hope to have experience in all three industries throughout my career.

I have also found that I am a very visual learner (which is perhaps why I am so interested in graphics). My biggest motivator is to be high achieving. I am far less motivated by money, but rather by merit. I have an insatiable thirst for learning and self improvement, and I do well with frequent feedback so I am able to adjust accordingly in order to improve. Admittedly, I am a perfectionist and I will continue to work on a project until my work is up to my standards.
